PORTLAND, HERE WE COME

The entire Michael Hingson Group, Inc. team will be in Portland, Oregon beginning this coming Thursday to participate in the West Region meeting of NACA, the National Association of Campus Activities. We look forward to meeting with representatives from nearly 600 colleges and universities from around the Western part of the United States.

Since 9-11, 2001 I have spoken to many colleges and universities from around the nation, but never have I had an opportunity to meet with people from so many schools at once. We are going with plenty of literature and dvds for the students who will be roaming the exhibit halls to find speakers and entertainers for events at their campuses. Continue reading

On November 9, 2012 I have the honor to deliver a keynote address at the Center for Spiritual Living in Reno, Nevada at 7:00p.m.,

This is not just the story of how I escaped from the World Trade Center, but rather it is the story of how I got there, and it is the story of how I learned to cope with the attacks and to move on.  I offer life lessons others can use when confronted with major changes in their world.  I am pleased that the Center for Spiritual Living has chosen to donate a portion of the proceeds from this event to the American Red Cross to assist victims of Hurricane Sandy—I am honored to be able to help other survivors in this way. October 2012 is the time to celebrate hero dogs in America

Like October 2011, October 2012 is the time to celebrate hero dogs in America. The American Humane Association held its second annual Hero Dog Awards ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on October 6. Last year, my guide dog from the World Trade Center, Roselle, won the overall award in addition to winning the Guide Dog category. This year, Gabe, the military dog winner won the overall award. At 7PM local time On November 9, 2012, I will be speaking at the Center for Spiritual Living at 4685 Lakeside Drive, Reno, Nevada 89509. Phone: (775) 826-0566. A question and answer session with Rev. Liesa Leggett Garcia and me will follow. Live-stream audiences will be able to submit questions via live chat. I think this will be only my second time where I have spoken to a live audience as well as having the event streamed where all participants will be able to ask questions. They expect to have over 300 people in the audience, and who knows how many people will login to the stream. Tickets are $35 per person and can be purchased by visiting: cslreno.org.
